AC INFINITY
High grain yield coupled with high protein concentration, earlier
maturity and better resistance to leaf rust and loose smut than Superb.
Adaptation: Wheat growing areas of the Canadian Prairies with
low incidences of FHB
Yield: In 2005 Alberta Agriculture Variety Trials, Area 5,
105% of AC Barrie, 4% higher than CDC Teal, 10% higher than Harvest, 9%
higher than AC Splendor.Very good potential in the western Black and
Dark Grey soil zones
Height: 33.2 inches, similar to Superb, shorter than AC Barrie
Maturity: 1 day earlier than AC Barrie and Harvest
Lodging: Good resistance
Disease Rating:
Resistant-Moderately Resistant to: Stem rust, leaf rust, bunt, loose
smut
Moderately Susceptible-Susceptible to: Leaf spotting diseases
Susceptible to: FHB
Strengths: Consistently high yields, with earlier maturity and good
grain quality .
PEACE (Canterra Seeds)
A good potential early wheat for the Peace region, large kernel size,
high protein equal to Harvest.
Yield: Good potential, particularly the Parkland and Peace
River regions, 2005 Alberta Agriculture Variety trials (*limited
data)104% of Barrie in Area 5
Maturity: 1 day earlier than AC Barrie and Harvest
Plant height: 94 cm equal to AC Barrie
Lodging: equal to AC Splendor
Disease: Moderately Resistant: Stem rust, leaf rust, loose
smut. Susceptible: Fusarium Head Blight.
Hard White Wheat
This class of wheat is a new offering for Canada to compete in markets
that desire a bright white color wheat for their products. White wheats are
similar to the hard red wheats in maturity, yields and growth habit. The CWB has
an
Identity
Preserved Program for 2005/06 through Patterson Grain and Cargill
Ltd.

RIGHTS:
Snowbird is protected by the Plant Breeders' Rights Act
VARIETY
DESCRIPTION:
Snowbird is a hard white spring wheat that has similar quality and
agronomic performance to CWRS wheat, but with a lighter (bran) seed
coat. The lighter bran offers whiter coloured flour. Snowbird has very
good yields, good harvestability, and good tolerance to sprouting.
